2018 Music Fest

Something Divine

Somethin’ Divine is a four-piece local fusion band that originated in the suburbs of Northwest Philadelphia. While the band started as a heavier alternative funk band in early 2017, the group evolved and became inspired by elements of jazz and funk fusion. Alongside original members Andy Manuele (guitar/vocals) and John Caldwell (bass/vocals) are the newly added members, Ryan Dougherty on drums and Staci Fink on the saxophone.

The band’s sound is heavily inspired by artists like Weather Report, Parliament, James Brown, John Coltrane, Earth Wind & Fire, Frank Zappa, and many more.

Somethin’ Divine has played at many venues all across the city including Bourbon & Branch, Kung Fu Necktie, and even the main stage at 88.5 WXPN’s World Cafe Live. The band released an EP in January titled ‘Black, No Sugar’, and is expected to release their debut self-titled full length album by late 2018 to early 2019.
